Replacement of plastic with rubber parts

Hard rubbers can be used to replace plastic mouldings where:

  • Batch sizes are low
  • Thick walls are required without sinkage
  • Tooling costs must be kept relatively low
  • Relatively high temperatures are involved

We have successfully replaced plastic parts using 90 to 95 hard
EPDM, polyurethane and hydrogenated Nitrile rubber to overcome
a range of problems that plastic parts would have met in particular
applications. Most rubber types can be formulated to very high
hardnesses producing the 'feel' and stiffness of plastic parts.
